Our mission is to honor the life of Payton Alexander. Embracing her strength and spirit by giving back to her community, helping children and young adults battling cancer, while also funding research for Ewing’s Sarcoma
Making a difference.
In January 2018, at the age of 15, Payton Alexander was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma Cancer and in November of 2021, at the age of 19, she lost her battle. For almost four years Payton endured harsh treatments from chemo, radiation and a bone marrow transplant. But during those four years she never gave up, she maintained a positive attitude and always focused on helping others.
Payton grew up in New Berlin and was a 2020 graduate of New Berlin West. While in high school, she was involved in basketball, golf and photography where she maintained a 4.0 GPA. She loved volunteering at Girl Scout camp every year, and during her illness she continued this, as well as her other activities and sports. After her diagnosis of Ewing Sarcoma Cancer, Payton became an advocate for pediatric and young adult cancer. She became involved with many organizations that support and help with childhood cancer. This included Little Warrior Foundation and Make a Wish. These organizations, as well as others, became a very important part of Payton’s life. She was so proud and willing to help out in any way she could, to help find a lasting cure for Ewing’s Sarcoma, not only for her, but the many people she had become very close to that had been diagnosed with this horrible disease.
Soon after Payton passed away the Alexander family knew they had to honor Payton and embrace her spirit. By carrying on her legacy, they hope to help other children and young adults that are battling cancer. Starting a non-profit 501c3 organization in her name became their goal, for the purpose of planning a golf outing to raise money for key foundations and establishing a scholarship in honor of her. Receiving a 501c3 status in time for the inaugural golf outing, unfortunately wasn’t going to happen, so they partnered with the Education Foundation of New Berlin. Their first golf outing, held in June 2022, was a huge success and it raised over $35,000! They were able to use these funds to contribute to Little Warriors foundation, Make-A-Wish and the Payton Alexander Golf Scholarship.
We are pleased today that we can announce that in the fall of 2022, we were able to gain our 501c3 status, and The Payton Alexander Memorial Foundation has been founded, honoring the life of Payton Alexander!
Please help us continue her fight!
Thanks for your help!
